Equipment Policy

Auxiliary Hitches, trailers, boats, handicapped equipment, and chains cannot be attached to a New York Rental car except when provided by IMAGE.

Credit Card Rentals

Renter's name must match name on card. Signature on back must match name imprinted on card. If Corporate Charge Card, authorized representative is accepted. Payment is due and charged to the credit card when vehicle is returned.

Licensing Policies

Valid U.S. or International Driver's License with a passport and ticket required and must be "in hand". No Learner Permits accepted. No photocopies accepted. Temporary licenses accepted only if for change of residence or replacement of lost or stolen license. If no photo, description should match renter, and will still be at management approval.

Rental may be subject to a verification to determine whether your license is suspended, revoked or expired. All 1st time renters subject to DMV Record check and a charge of $10.00, to prevent unlawful rental if your license is suspended or revoked.

Gas

The rental rate does not include the cost for fuel. Renters start with a full tank of fuel in their car at the time of rental.
You can return the car with a full tank of fuel and pay only what it costs you to refill the tank at a local gas station from the check out level you got the car with.

Minimum Basic Insurance

IMAGE provides minimum state financial liability coverage in the base rental rate only where required by law and under certain Rate Codes. This coverage may only be applicable if your personal auto policy provides no coverage or inadequate coverage. For your Information: I f you own a car and you are named as insured or additional insured if any damage or accident occurs with the rental car your insurance will pay us 100% of the loss as described in
New York state
insurance law

Emergency Policy

IMAGE customers in need of emergency road service in the U.S. and Canada should call 1-800-894-6102 for help. The call is automatically routed to the nearest open IMAGE office. All accidents must be reported to the police and an accident report completed.

You must also notify within 24 hours of the accident, and you will likely be required to complete another accident report for IMAGE's records and your own. This report is for both parties' protection, and is particularly important if you have purchased a waiver of damage. Be aware that statements you make may be made a permanent part of the accident report. Remember to be truthful and accurate as your statements may be used in legal claims.

Once you complete the accident report, you should be able to continue your trip. Be sure to save all original receipts stating the reason for purchase of parts or labor, and the amounts.

Cancellation Requirements

At least one full days notice (25 hrs) is required to cancel any reservation. otherwise yo will be charged for the rental length reserved.

Renter Responsibility

New York Rent A Car and affiliates holds the renter responsible for the safe return of the rental car in the same condition as it was rented and gas, except for normal wear and tear. Unless prohibited by state law, a renter may be held responsible for all damages, included loss of use, towing & storage, should the vehicle be damaged in an accident, stolen or vandalized. This is the case regardless of fault. Whether or not you caused the accident, you may be asked to pay for the damage up to and including the total cost of replacing the vehicle in case of a total wreck or loss. Be sure any estimated damage to the car has been recorded properly before you leave the rental facility. In an event of an incident renter is responsible to comply with law enforcement and to supply New York Rent A Car wit a full complete Police incident report and Loss report must be delivered to IMAGE within 24 hours of the incident.

Return Process Length

Give yourself ample time to return your car. While we pride ourselves on expediting the return, you may still need a few moments. Your car should be checked for damage at the time of return both by you and our return agent. If there is damage, you may be required to fill out a damage report. Make sure you take a copy of the damage report with you for any insurance and/or credit card reimbursement procedures.

Mileage Restrictions

Unlimited mileage only applies on driving in the tri-state area. and not to exceed 300 Mile Radius.

Unlimited mileage is only offered to traveler to the airport and is not offered to the local renters. A Valid airline ticket or boarding pass is required to receive unlimited mileage with the rates.
